“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations”
As the Amal fellowship journey is about to end in two weeks, we were asked to reflect upon our three-month journey. Well, everything in life is not permanent and everything has to see an end and you will learn lessons from those things.
As I reflect upon my journey, I was very conscious about managing university and fellowship. Eventually, I learned to practice multi-task and left my comfort zone by being comfortable with strangers and putting my thoughts in front of them. The most important thing was having a respectful and friendly environment created by our facilitators. My Amal journey was not less than a roller coaster ride where someday I felt really happy about doing more than I do and somedays I wanted to quit. But I am thankful that I have learned so much in three months.

The most impactful interaction was when we worked for a cause and collected funds for Edhi Foundation. This was the first time when I collected funds and persuade my groupmates upon how we will do this activity and every member in the group showed a genuine agreement upon my idea and were supportive and respected my decision. My fellows; Sunaina, Sadia, Nabeel, Maham, Osama, are great people, ready to give a helping hand whenever in need and boost their confidence. I realized that in a short period we have to build a bond that will Insha’Allah last a long time where we can look up to each other without any hesitation.

And the second most impactful interaction I had was with one of the Amal Alumni, Salman, he was pretty much empathetic and told me not to worry about the career opportunities, you will get many, as at some point he was going through the same process. He showed kindness and provided me with guidance what he learnt and trusted the journey. This gave me hope that everything will fall into place.

In a nutshell, sometimes you need a helping hand, a positive compliment that makes you do more of you. It is really important to be someone and to be surrounded with people who have a positive attitude towards life and appreciate little gestures.
